What it does
AutoTool puts the best tool in hand by itself: the player starts digging stone — a pickaxe appears, wood — an axe, and once the block breaks the slot goes back. Similar modules swap in the best weapon before a hit.
The gain is speed: every block breaks as fast as possible with no extra key presses, and in a fight the sword or axe is in hand right for the hit. On survival it's a matter of convenience and the server's rules, in PvP it's an edge — so it matters to tell this cheat apart and decide whether to punish it.
How to spot it
- The slot changes exactly when the player starts breaking a block and goes back when they finish
- Always picks the perfect tool, even from a far hotbar slot
- Switches come faster than a human could press a key
- The same chain — start breaking, switch slot, break, switch back — repeats on every block
How it gets caught
A human picks the tool first and then hits the block, with a delay that varies. AutoTool reacts to the start of breaking itself: the slot switch comes in the same tick as the first hit on the block, and the switch back right after it stops. One case means nothing — everyone has binds and habits — so repetition is what counts.
A slot switch while mining says nothing about combat, so it must never weaken a player's hits. In DGuard AutoTool goes into the dossier, and the server owner picks its punishment.
