What it does
PacketMine mines with packets instead of a held button: the cheat sends start digging, and the player is free — looking away, hitting an opponent, placing crystals — and when the time is up, finish digging arrives. Often it switches to a pickaxe for the last tick and swaps straight back to the sword.
Its main arena is anarchy crystal PvP: while the opponent is busy fighting, PacketMine opens up the obsidian around their feet and a crystal goes straight in. It also lets players mine without breaking off a chase or a fight. An honest player pays for every block with aim and time; the cheat skips the bill.
How to spot it
- A block breaks while the player looks the other way and swings a sword at someone
- Sword in hand, yet obsidian broke in exactly the time a pickaxe would need
- Cracks progress on a block the player isn't facing
- The opponent's defence disappears just as a crystal is ready next to it
How it gets caught
Honest digging has a shape: start, eyes on the block and swings at it the whole time, a tool in hand, finish once that tool's time has passed. In the vanilla client switching the held item restarts digging and looking away cancels it. PacketMine breaks the shape: the finish arrives while the player looks elsewhere, the tool changes on the last tick, and the time is credited to a pickaxe that barely dug.
One packet isn't enough — a player may have turned away at the last moment. The evidence is the recurring pattern of start, look away, finish with another tool, across many blocks.
