Timer

speeds the game up

What it does

The game runs at 20 ticks per second — 50 ms per tick — and an honest client lives by that rhythm. Timer speeds up the client's clock: at a 1.2 multiplier the player lives through 24 ticks a second instead of 20, and all of their movement speeds up at once — running, jumping, bridging.

From the outside it looks like fast-forward: nothing “impossible”, everything just slightly quicker. That's why Timer is often paired with Scaffold in BedWars and with other movement modules: the multiplier is small, but the gain adds up in every action.

How to spot it

  • The whole player looks fast-forwarded: steps, jumps and building are quicker, but the motions themselves look normal
  • Jumps reach the usual height but take less time
  • Bridges or runs in a straight line a bit faster than everyone else, with no Speed effect

How it gets caught

The server measures real time itself, so it can count how many ticks the client lived through in that span. Over a few seconds an honest count stays near 20 per second; a small but steady excess is Timer, even if every single movement looks legitimate.

Networks are uneven: after a lag spike the client sends delayed packets in a burst, briefly pushing the rate above 20. So the anticheat keeps a time balance — catching up is allowed, getting ahead isn't — and counts real clock time, not server ticks, since at low TPS the server itself falls behind. Evidence is a sustained excess, not a spike.
