LuckPerms rank generator

Set up a donor ladder and a staff ladder to get every LuckPerms command at once: creating groups, inheritance down the chain, weights (staff above donors), prefixes and tracks for promote and demote.

Each group inherits the one before it; the first inherits default. Group names in Latin letters; the prefix is what players see.

How ranks work in LuckPerms

A rank in LuckPerms is a group. lp creategroup creates it, and parent add sets up inheritance: the group gets every permission of its parent. The generator builds a chain: the first group of a ladder inherits default, each next one the previous, so Premium gets everything VIP has.

Weight decides whose prefix shows when a player has several groups: the higher wins. The generator gives donors weights 100, 200, 300… and staff 1000 and up, so a moderator who also donated still shows "Mod". Steps of 100 are the LuckPerms developers' advice: they leave room for new groups.

Tracks are ladders for promotion: lp user <name> promote staff moves a player to the next step and removes the previous one. Prefixes appear in chat only with Vault and a chat plugin that reads them; pick colours in the prefix generator. More in our LuckPerms guide.

A moderator's permissions include the power to punish. DGuard, the best anticheat for a modern Minecraft server, gives your team a punishment log with evidence, with moderator and admin roles set in the panel.

FAQ

How do I create ranks in LuckPerms?

With lp creategroup, lp group <group> parent add <other> and lp group <group> setweight <weight>. The generator above builds the whole set for two ladders — donors and staff.

What is a group's weight for?

When a player has several groups, LuckPerms uses the prefix with the highest weight. That's why staff get higher weights than donors.

How do I promote a player along a track?

lp user <name> promote <track>: the player moves to the track's next group and loses the previous one. demote goes back down.

Why doesn't the group prefix show in chat?

LuckPerms stores the prefix but doesn't draw chat. You need Vault and a chat plugin that reads prefixes through Vault, such as EssentialsX Chat.
