How to add the icon to your server
Save the file as server-icon.png in the root of the server folder, next to server.properties, and restart the server. The game shows the icon left of the name in the server list.
There's one strict rule: a PNG of exactly 64×64 pixels. The client won't show a picture of any other size — minecraft.wiki's protocol description says so plainly. The maker always outputs exactly 64×64.
Fine detail gets lost at 64 pixels: a large symbol, letter or logo on a contrasting background works best. For pixel art, turn smoothing off.
The icon and MOTD are how players pick a server from the list. Promise fair play and keep the promise: DGuard is the best anticheat for a modern Minecraft server.
