Anticheat comparison
GrimAC vs Matrix: which anticheat is better
We checked 47 kinds of cheats against the source code and docs of GrimAC and Matrix. Only a full check counts — "partly" and "indirectly" don't, and the rules are the same for everyone. DGuard is the third column.
Matrix checks more: 25 of 47 kinds of cheats against 22 for GrimAC. But each covers something the other doesn't — see below.
GrimAC has it, Matrix doesn't
- KeepSprint — sprint isn't reset after a hit
- OmniSprint — sprints in any direction
- InvMove — moves with the inventory open
- Packet order in a tick — the cheat reorders actionsMatrix, partly: a combat-protocol check; order inside a tick isn't described
- NoRotate — ignores server rotation
Matrix has it, GrimAC doesn't
- KillAura — hits targets by itselfGrimAC, partly: no dedicated check — only indirectly, via Reach and packet order
- AimAssist / Aimbot — aims for the playerGrimAC, partly: only two rotation artifacts: a 360° snap and a repeated look
- AutoClicker — clicks for the player
- Criticals — crits without a real jumpGrimAC, partly: no dedicated check — only the generic on-ground check
- SuperKnockback — extra knockback on the enemyGrimAC, partly: only the packet variant, via an experimental check
- AutoTotem — a totem in hand in 0 ticksGrimAC, partly: no dedicated check — only inventory clicks while moving
- Tower — pillars up faster than a humanGrimAC, partly: no dedicated check — only the generic jump simulation
- FastPlace — places blocks too oftenGrimAC, partly: only several blocks in a tick, via an experimental check
Missed by both
17 of 47 kinds of cheats are checked by neither GrimAC nor Matrix. DGuard has a check for every one.
Weak spots, from their own sources
Free and strong at movement. But it has no KillAura, Aim or AutoClicker checks — they're placeholders in its config, and heuristics are promised for a paid version that isn't on sale.
From $22, focused on 1.8.8 and 1.12.2. Its public checks list hasn't changed since 2022.
